The Process

What Mobile Home Demolition Involves

Mobile home demolition is not the same as junk removal — it is a structured teardown. Here\’s exactly what a typical project looks like.

Step 1

Pre-Demo Coordination

Utility disconnections (electric, water, gas/propane) must be completed before demo begins. We help coordinate timing with your utility providers.

Step 2

Interior Gutting

Cabinets, fixtures, appliances, and salvageable materials are removed first. Anything that can be donated or recycled, is.

Step 3

Structure Demolition

Walls, roof, frame, and chassis are dismantled safely using the right equipment for single-wide or double-wide construction.

Step 4

Full Debris Haul-Away

Everything loaded into our 20-foot box truck (1,200 ft³ capacity — 3× a standard dump truck) and properly disposed of at licensed facilities.

Step 5

Site Clearing

The area is graded and cleared so the lot is ready for whatever\’s next — a new build, a sale, or just clean land. (Quoted separately.)

⚠️ Important Safety Note

Asbestos in Pre-1980 Mobile Homes

Mobile homes and manufactured homes built before 1980 may contain asbestos in floor tiles, roof shingles, insulation, or wall panels. We strongly recommend asbestos testing before any demolition on older homes.

We do not handle asbestos abatement ourselves, but we can refer you to licensed NC abatement contractors and coordinate our timeline around theirs. This keeps you compliant and keeps everyone safe.

FAQ

Mobile Home Demolition Questions

Do you handle the demolition permit?
We walk you through the permit process for your specific county. Most NC counties require a permit and we can help navigate it. Call (704) 594-1271 for guidance on your county.
What happens to the concrete slab?
Slab removal is quoted separately. Let us know upfront if you need the slab gone and we\’ll include it in your written estimate so there are no surprises.
How long does mobile home demolition take?
Most single-wide demolitions are completed in 1–2 days. Double-wides and more complex structures typically take 2–3 days. We\’ll give you a clear timeline in the estimate.
Can you demo a home that has been sitting for years?
Yes. Long-abandoned structures are a common situation for us. We\’ll assess condition and any hazmat concerns before starting work.
Do you recycle or donate any materials?
Yes — we salvage and recycle metal, lumber, and other materials wherever possible to reduce landfill load. It\’s the right thing to do and it often saves you money on disposal.
Do utilities need to be off before you start?
Yes — electric, water, and gas/propane must be disconnected before demolition begins. We can help coordinate this with your utility providers.
