Consultation

The first step in getting your stumps removed is a free consultation with one of our team members. Here are the questions you should be prepared for;

  • How many stumps do you need removed?
  • What are the dimensions?
  • What type of tree are these from?
  • Are there any cable, water, sewer or power lines in the areas we’ll need to address?
  • Where are these stumps located?
  • Can we get heavy machinery to the area? (If not, we’ll need to pass)
  • What would you like to do with the stump mulch once we’re finished? (Keep or Remove)
  • When would you like to get started?

Prepping The Job Area

Once we’ve identified the stumps to be removed, we’ll use chainsaws (if needed) to cut the stump down as low as possible to minimize the amount of debris generated from the stump removal process.

We’ll also make sure there are no cables or pipes running underground around these stumps. Once we’ve confirmed the area is clear, we’ll bring in the stump grinder and get to work.

Grinding It Out

With the work area now confirmed to be clear of any wires or pipes, plus the bulk of the tree trunk cut to the minimum height, it’s time to bring in the stump grinder and get to work.

For a small tree, this process should take no longer than 10 minutes. Medium size stumps can take 15-20 minutes and large stumps can take 30 minutes or more depending on the size and tree type.

Keep in mind, a pine tree is much easier to grind vs an oak tree due to the “hard vs soft” wood from one tree to the next.

Clean up

Once we’ve completed the stump grinding process, it’s time to clean up our mess and collect payment.

We’ll either leave the stump mulch behind that you can use to fill in your garden beds or around your trees, or we can do this for you.

We can also remove all of the mulch (for an additional cost) to ensure you don’t have to mess with anything after we’re finished.
